In Are Mid-Range Phones the “Smartphones 4D”? I have posted impressions from a seminar on mobile services at CTA that took place in Wageningen back in November 2009. In our discussion there the need for advanced services became clear, as did the promise of devices such as mid-range phones. I think that the limits of voice and SMS are already being pushed, and these technologies are increasingly losing their status as the only practicable option. As mobile networks evolve, more advanced technologies are becoming just as practicable and deployable.
