About me

Dear all,

Welcome to the MMD4D community!

My name is Mira Slavova and I have a strong interest in the design of mobile markets for the developing country context.

My background is in Economics and Management Studies (OR and IS). I hold a PhD from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge where I worked on understanding information asymmetries in Internet auctions and bidding behaviour. My IS background includes the study of mobile information use within the context of routine productive activities. I have focused on the domains of agriculture, education; and safety and security.

I worked in agriculture with the International Trade Center (UNCTAD-WTO) on the project “Trade at Hand for Liberia’s Market Women” and with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Ghana. I have contributed to the World Bank’s ICT in Agriculture Sourcebook (2011). Currently, I am based in Pretoria, South Africa and I work at SAP’s Mobile Empowerment lab.

Here is my full and updated CV, including my current contact details.
